The Healthy Reefs for Healthy People Initiative (HRI) is a unique and influential collaboration of coral reef-focused organizations devoted to safeguarding the Mesoamerican Reef. Our vision is for a thriving and healthy marine ecosystem, where well-informed and influential reef shareholders are actively engaged in safeguarding this valuable asset. HRHP pioneered the first reef health evaluation framework and Coral Reef Report Cards are now widely used around the world. All of these efforts are aimed at increasing reef health in the Mesoamerican Reef, which we did successfully for a decade.
