During December 5th, 2016, Healthy Reefs Initiative Director, Melanie McField and Mexico’s Coordinator, Marisol Rueda, attended the presidential ceremony, at COP13 Moon Palace, during which the Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto, signed the decree to establish the protection of 5.7 million hectares of marine and terrestrial area as the new Mexican Caribbean Biosphere Reserve. rbcm-pena-news
