UNESCO concerned about drilling in World Heritage Sites

May 18, 2010 The Belize Barrier Reef is currently on UNESCO’s list of endangered World Heritage Sites. It now faces another threat, a more serious one at that, since the reef could be permanently removed as a Heritage Site because of licenses granted for oil exploration and drilling.

Se reúnen en Chetumal expertos de las Áreas Naturales Protegidas del Sistema Arrecifal Mesoamericano

(Chetumal,Quintana Roo, México – Mayo 20, 2010) – Más de 40 expertos de México, Belice,Honduras, Guatemala y Estados Unidos se reunieron del 17 al 19 de mayo delpresente en el “Taller de Capacitación Regional sobre Áreas Marinas Protegidas:Conectividad en el Arrecife Mesoamericano” celebrado en el Colegio de la FronteraSur (ECOSUR) unidad Chetumal.
